Lyle, Elsie (27 AUG 1930)

The Veefkind Presbyterian Church was the scene of a very pretty wedding which took place on Aug. 27th at 2 o’clock P. M. when Elsie Lyle of Loyal became the bride of Albert Wehling of Spokeville. The Rev. P. Leahy of Chippewa Falls, an old friend of the bride’s family performed the ceremony.

The bride who is the daughter of Mr.. W. J. Wehling of Loyal, wore a beautiful dress of white georgette, a veil of tulle in cap effect, white stockings and pumps and carried a shower bouquet of pink and white tea roses and carnations.

Miss Eva Lyle of Fox Lake, Wis., a cousin of the bride, who acted as maid of honor wore a dress of yellow chiffon and carried a bouquet of salmon color roses, baby breath and white carnations.

Verna Wehling of Spokeville, cousin of the groom, who acted as bridesmaid wore a dress of coral satin and silk net, and carried a bouquet of white roses, sweet peas and pink carnations. All the girls wore jeweled head bands.

The groom, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Wehling who during their life made their home on a farm near Spokeville, wore a navy blue tailored suit and was attended by Douglas McPherson, (step-brother of the bride) who acted as best man, also wore a suit of navy blue. Louis Ratzburg of Spokeville, a friend of the groom was the second attendant. He wore a gray suit.

The church was prettily decorated to represent a garden scene. A white picket trellis fence and arbor were decorated with vines, ferns, autumn leaves and flowers, hanging ferns and numerous flowers were used in the scene.

Mrs. A. L. Gifford of Veefkind, an aunt of the bride, played the wedding march. Mr. Lowell Schultz and Mr. Harley Renne of Veefkind acted as ushers.

A reception was held at the bride’s home at 7 o’clock in the evening for forty immediate relatives. Mr. Geo. Lyle, Jr., of Fox Lake, Wis., Miss Eva Lyle and the bride’s grandmother Mrs. G. L. Miegs also of Fox Lake were the only relatives from away.

Misses Laura and Rose Horn of Veefkind and a girl friend of the bride acted as table waitresses.

The home was decorated with pink, yellow and white crepe paper, wedding bells and flowers.

The bridal pair left Friday for a two week trip to the Dells of Wisconsin and other points in the southern and eastern parts of the state.

Upon their return they will make their home on a farm near Spencer which they recently purchased.

Congratulations and Best Wishes are extended to the newlyweds.
