Lovstad, Carsten (3 JUN 1914 - 2 Sep 1986)

Chili, Clark County, Wis. - Carsten Lovstad, 72, Chili, died at 4:32 p.m. Tuesday in the emergency room of St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Christ Lutheran Church, Chili. The Rev. Herbert Bierman will officiate. Mrs. Harold Montag will be the organist. Burial will be in Yolo Cemetery, Chili.

Pallbearers will be Jeff and Steven Selk, Thomas and Ryan Cliver, and Michael and Kenny Lovstad, all grandsons.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Thursday and until 11 a.m. Thursday at Gilbertson Funeral Home, Funeral Home, Granton, then at the church for one hour before services.

Mr. Lovstad was born June 3, 1914, in Vernon Co., a son of Carl and Trina (Sinnes) Lovstad. He attended school there.

He was married to Doris Larson July 30, 1938, in Westby They moved to Christie where they farmed for four years. They have resided in Chili the last 35 years.

He worked at Marshfield Homes and also was employed as a painter in this area.

He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Chili Fire Department and was fire inspector for the Town of Fremont. He had also served on the Church Council.

Surviving, besides his wife, are two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Sonja) Selk, Chili, and Mrs. William (Christine) Cliver, Marshfield; three sons, Kenneth and Karl, both of Chili, and Richard, Wis. Dells; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Orvin, Coon Valley; and one sister, Margaret Bakken, Westby.

He was predeceased by his parents and one brother.
