Mrs. Amelia Arndt, wife of Herman Arndt, passed away at her home in the town of Hewett Sunday night, aged 68 years, 9 months and 3 days.

Mrs. Arndt was born in Germany and came to this country with her parents when she was four years old, the family settling at Highcliff, Calumet County, Wis.

In 1884 she was married in Calumet County to Herman Arndt. In 1908 they came to Clark County and bought the Cornwell farm west of the river, which they sold later. In 1918 they bought the Robert McCalvy farm on Highway 10 in Pine Valley where they lived until April 1932, when they sold the place and bought their present farm in Hewett.

About four years ago, Mrs. Arndt underwent an operation for cancer, which was apparently successful, but a recurrence of the disease was the cause of her death.

Besides her husband she leaves ten children: Louise, Mrs. Wm. Funk, Menasha; George on the farm in the town of Menasha; Herman in Neenah; August in Menasha; Annie, Mrs. Fred Milligan, Wausau; Charlie in Oshkosh; William at home; Amelia, Mrs. K. Grabe, town of York; Raymond at home; Olive, Mrs. Wm. Oldham, Jr., Neenah; Arthur and Freddie, deceased.

She leaves also 24 grandchildren.

The funeral was held today Wednesday at the Methodist church in Neillsville, Rev. P. B. White officiating.
