JESSE LEE TOMLINSON

Jesse Lee Tomlinson, age 90, of Neillsville died March 23, 2002 at Memorial Home in Neillsville.

Jess was born Oct. 13, 1911, in Embodin, Arkansas, the son of Lawrence and Margie (Carter) Tomlinson. He received his education at McKinley School in Mt. Pulaski, IL and also from Gorman and Worchel Schools in Clark County, WI.

On March 2, 1938, he married Lola Howard in Neillsville. He and his wife operated a dairy farm near Greenwood. Jesse was seasonally employed at the Loyal Cannery and also worked in construction, logging and masonry. In 1979, the couple moved to Neillsville.

Jesse was a former member of the Christie Methodist Church and had served as treasurer there. He was an active fisherman after his retirement.

Surviving is his wife, Lola; two sons, Ronald of Waukesha and Michael of Neillsville and his daughter, Patricia (Donald) Sauberan of Lake Havasu, AZ; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and his sister, Pauline Strangfield of Neillsville.

Preceding Jesse in death are his parents, one brother Homer and one sister Violet Ross.

Visitation will be afternoon at the church on March 27.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. March 27, at the United Methodist Church in Neillsville. Burial will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Rev. Craig Conklin will officiate with Pat Knudson as organist and Gerald Holm as musician.

Buchanan Funeral Home of Neillsville assisted the family with arrangements.
