Bieneck, Mr./Mrs. Ernest (Gold - 14 Feb 1962)

Fifty years ago today on Valentine's Day Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Bieneck, no of Pine Valley, Clark County, Wis., were married in St. Paul. The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bieneck claimed as his bride Marie Haas, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Haas, all of the Pine Valley area.

The Rev. Fr. Clarence performed the Feb. 14, 1912 marriage rites in the parish house. Following their weeding, the newlywed began to farm in the Pine Valley area, where they still reside.

The Bienecks celebrated their golden wedding on Saturday, Feb. 10 at the American Legion Hall in Neillsville, about 175 persons attending the event. Lila and Iris Bieneck, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bieneck, Pine Valley, sang and played guitars during the afternoon reception. The Bieneck sisters, Mrs. Charles Diers and Paul Bieneck also sang several German songs.

The reception with refreshments and the buffet supper from 2 to 5 p.m. were followed that evening by an anniversary dance.

Mrs. Bieneck had a corsage of chrysanthemums and baby roses, the Bieneck girls and Mrs. Paul Bieneck also having corsages. The men had carnation boutonnieres.

Mr. Bieneck, who was born at Pine Valley, was educated in Germany and farmed at Pine Valley prior to his marriage. His wife worked in St. Paul before she was married. She was born at Kaukauna Nov. 15, 1893.

The anniversary pair, who enjoy good health, are the parents of three children, Mrs. Paul (Leona) Ehlers, Washburn; Paul Bieneck, Pine Valley; and Mrs. Charles (Lillian) Diers, Pine Valley. They also have 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Wheeler, St. Paul; Mrs. Allie Haas and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Conar, Jefferson; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Heisz and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Schwellenbach and daughters, Janesville; Mr. and Mrs. Larry Ehlers, Dorchester; Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Bieneck, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ratch, Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Noll and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sternitzky, Granton; and Mrs. Emma Schlinkert and son Clarence, Neillsville.

Also present was a host of relatives and friends from the surrounding area.
