Nichols, Evelyn (4 JUN 1929)
Evelyn Nichols, daughter of Mrs. Eliza Nichols of Loyal, and Homer A. Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Smith of Marshfield, Wis., were united in marriage on June 4, 1929 at Winona, Minn. The marriage ceremony was performed by the Rev. Whitsitt, pastor of the First Congregational Church.
Both of these young people are well known in Loyal and vicinity, having been residents here. The bride was graduated from the Loyal High School in the Class of 1920 and the Central State Teachers College of Stevens Point. She has been in the reaching profession the past six years. She is a capable girl, refined and of a home loving nature. She will, no doubt, make a wonderful helpmate. The groom was formerly a Loyal business man, and graduated of the Marshfield High School. He and his father, M. J. Smith and brother were in the implement business here several years ago. From here they went to Marshfield having purchased the Cedar Hedges Farm. The still own this well known Marshfield farm and conduct a thriving dairy business. Homer has many friends in this community. He is industrious, a good business man, and is a man of fine character.
The young couple left directly after the ceremony for a motor trip to the northern lakes and will be at home at the Cedar Hedges Farm after June 15th. They have the well wishes of a host of friends and of the Tribune.
