Hecker, Norbert (20 Dec 1913 - 13 Apr 1929)

Norbert, fifteen year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hecker, who reside two miles north of this village died at the Marshfield hospital on Saturday evening. He had been ill for eight days before his death and was taken to the hospital last week Tuesday, where he submitted to an operation for the removal of a ruptured appendix.

The deceased was born Dec. 20, 1913 and attended the St. Balthasar's parochial school in this village. He is survived by his parents, a twin brother, Robert and three other brothers and three sisters, namely: Harold, Peter, Leonard, Florence, Mildred and Lorene.

Norbert was a boy with a sunny disposition, well liked by his schoolmates and friends who will greatly miss him. The funeral was held at 9:00 A. M. Tuesday at St. Balthasar's Catholic Church, the Rev. Father Joseph Stenz officiating. Burial took place in the Catholic Cemetery at Greenwood.

Those from away who attended the funeral were Mr. Joe Hecker, Sr. grandfather of the deceased, Mrs. Joe Schuler, an aunt and Mrs. Isadore Meyer all from St. Nazianz, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Heinzen, Mr. John Heinzen and Mr. Joe Heinzen all from Marshfield.

The bereaved have the sympathy of many friends as well as the Tribune in their sorrow.
