Oelke, Alvin E. (16 Sep 1925 - 30 Jul 1927)

Alvin Edward Oelke, the little son and only child of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Oelke, died at the Marshfield Hospital last Saturday, July 30th, 1927, and was buried from the Lutheran Church at Stetsonville Monday, Aug. 1st, Rev. Glaiser officiating. The pallbearers were Harvey Fierke, Herman Hammon, Lawrence and Vernon Langtau and the flower girls were Ruth Johnson, Dorothy Schultz, Bernice Pueschner, and Eva Langtau.

The little fellow had been sick for the last three and a half weeks and was taken to the hospital at Marshfield three weeks ago where he remained in a very serious condition until death came as a relief. He was born Sept 16, 1925 and was 1 years, 10 months and 15 days at the time of his death. He leaves to mourn his loss, his parents, grandparents and many other relatives.

His mother is a daughter of Mrs. Carl Plockelman and a sister of Mrs. George Sampson, who buried her babe just a week before.

The baby feet are stilled and the little voice is heard no more on earth, but in that fair land beyond the veil he is happy, a jewel in the Heavenly Father's home, "Little children, who love their Redeemer, are the jewels, He loved and His own." Words fail when we comfort so we can only remind of Christ who is too ready to comfort.

Those from away who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Gust Oelke, Abbotsford, their daughter, Miss Frieda Oelke, Baraboo, Mrs. Muth, and Bernhard Oelke, also of Baraboo, Mrs. Bourwitz and sons, Henry and Carl and Herman Oelke of Richland Center, and Mr. and Mrs. Gust Walters of Spencer.
