ROBERT C BRAATZ

Robert C Braatz, age 79, of Beaver Dam, died on Tues. May 4, 2004 at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

Robert was born on June 24, 1924 in the town of Grant, Clark County to Carl and Louise (Junchen) Braatz. He graduated from the Neillsville High Scholl in 1941. He married Jeanette Ehlers on Aug. 17, 1947.

Robert was a WWII veteran, proud to have served with the 95th Bomb Group H, in England. It was the only bomb group in the 8th Air Force to receive three presidential citations. He was proud to have been selected to deliver Gen. Eisenhower from his plane to briefing headquarters on three occasions.

He was employed with Mobil Oil Company, later becoming the owner of Braatz Petroleum Equipment. He was an avid fishing and hunting person who loved nature and the outdoors. He made every occasion enjoyable with his stories of the past. His dedication and loyalty were his strong qualities. He will be missed by the many who knew him.

Surviving Robert is his wife, Jeanette; two brothers-in-law, Glenn (Muriel) Ehlers and Lester Kreier; a sister-in-law, Lillian Meyer, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceding Robert in death are his parents; two brothers, Clarence and Norman; and a sister Helen.

Memorial services were held on Friday May 7, at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Rev. Paul Lindau officiated. Inurnment will take place in the Neillsville City Cemetery at a later date.

Koepsell Funeral Home in Beaver Dam assisted the family with arrangements.
