Smith, Arthur D. (9 Sep 1887 - 8 JUN 1955)

Neillsville, Clark County, Wis. - Funeral services for Arthur Douglas Smith, 67, of 211 State St., who died at his home Wednesday afternoon, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church. The Rev. R. C. White will officiate and burial will be made in the Neillsville Cemetery.

The body will lie in state at Bergemann Funeral Home until Saturday noon, when it will be taken to the church to lie in state until time of services.

Mr. Smith was born Sept. 9, 1887 at Dancy and was a small boy when his family moved to Clark County. He was married July 9, 1909, to Miss Flora Wedekind at Rockford, Ill. and was employed by the American Stores Dairy for many years, retiring in 1953. He was a member of Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church at Neillsville.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, and the following children; Mrs. John (Ada) Cameron, Minneapolis; Mrs. Joseph (Helen) Peterson, black River Falls; and Rawleigh Smith of Altoona. Other survivors are seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Nettie Smith, Madison; two brothers, Bergen, Neillsville; and Wilbur, Milwaukee, and his mother, Mrs. Beulah Smith of Arpin.

He was preceded in death by one daughter and his father.
