Holtz, Pauline (29 Sept. 1869 - 29 Feb. 1932)

Mrs. Herman Holtz, whose maiden name was Pauline Floerke, was born in the town of Hebron, in Jefferson county on Sept. 29, 1869. She was married to Herman Holtz on Sept. 21, 1889. Six children were born to them of whom one died in infancy. Her husband, four daughters and one son and three sisters and four brothers survive her. Five years ago last May she had a stroke and has been an invalid ever since. About five weeks ago she grew more seriously sick and death came as a relief of Monday morning, Feb. 29, at the home of her daughter Mrs. D. O. Chapman where she had been cared for several years.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 at Lowe’s Funeral home and at two o’clock in the Reformed Church, Rev. E. H. Vornholt, pastor. The surviving children are Mable, Mrs. D. O. Chapman, Neillsville; Paul of Duluth; Lillian, Mrs. Archie Buell of Ironwood, Mich.; Elsie, Mrs. G. B. Mills, Eau Claire, Edith, Mrs. Gus Carlson, Duluth.

HURT ON WAY TO FUNERAL

Mrs. Adam Whitman, a sister of Mrs. Herman Holtz, who with her husband was on their way from Ft. Atkinson at attend the funeral of Mrs. Holtz, was seriously injured late Tuesday afternoon when their car skidded and tipped over west of Granton. Mrs. Whitman suffered a severe knee injury, a broken nose and numerous cuts about the scalp. Dr. R. R. Rath was summoned and Mrs. Whitman was brought to the Neillsville hospital where she is receiving treatment. Mrs. Whitman is also a sister of Mrs. W. C. Thoma and an aunt of Wm. Schlinkert.
