MARION HANKEY BECOMES BRIDE OF N. J. MICHELS Perform Ceremony in St. John’s Church Tuesday
At a 9 o’clock nuptial High Mass performed in St. John’s Catholic Church Tuesday morning, Miss Marion R. HANKEY, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. O. HANKEY, Marshfield, route 1, became the bride of Norbert J. MICHELS, son of Mr. and Mrs. William MICHELS, Marshfield route 3, with the Rev. A.W. HEINDL reading the vows.
For her wedding the bride chose a white gown made with a satin bodice distinguished with three-quarter length sleeves and a V neckline and a full gathered marquisette skirt ending in a long train. Her finger-tip veil was caught to a seed pearl headdress and she wore pearls, the bridegroom’s gift, for jewelry. Her bouquet was an arrangement of red and white roses.
Miss Edna MICHELS, sister of the groom, in a white taffeta frock styled with a fitted waist, short sleeves and a bouffant skirt, and wearing a shoulder corsage of pink roses, was maid of honor. Miss Evelyn HANKEY, sister of the bride, and Miss Charlotte HUSTEDT, in identical blue taffeta frocks styled like Miss MICHELS’, were bridesmaids. Their corsages also were fashioned of pink roses.
Raymond FELTON, cousin of the groom, was best man.
Mrs. HANKEY viewed her daughter’s wedding in a flowered silk jersey dress and Mrs. MICHELS, mother of the groom, wore black. Both had gardenia corsages pinned to their shoulders.
Following the ceremony the bridal party had breakfast at Trudeau’s Café. Dinner and supper were served to 50 guests and a reception was held at the home of the newly-married couple on route 3. That evening, a wedding dance was given in the Bakerville Pavilion.
Mr. MICHELS is engaged in farming and his bride, who was graduated from the Marshfield High School with the class of 1942, had been employed at the Weinbrenner Shoe Factory.
Guests included Misses Adelaide and Lorraine HENSELER, Norbert VARSHO, Sylvester TASSEE, Mr. and Mrs. Willard STELTENPOHL, Mr. and Mrs. Harold HANSON, Mr. and Mrs. Fred HUSTED, Mr. and Mrs. Einor HANSON, Mr. and Mrs. Emil STASEK and family, Mrs. Anna MICHELS, Mr. and Mrs. James FELTON.
