Poplar Cheese Factory, located in Section 28 of the Town of Beaver:

Chalres Salzwedel and his son Henry "erected the brick cheese factory, known as Poplar Cheese Factory, and began its operation in 1889 with eleven patrons."

"Chalres Salzwedel died in 1913. . . .After his father's death, Henry Salzwedel took over the cheese factory. . . . The cheese factory now (1918) has thirty-three patron and uses on an average about 5,600 pounds of milk per day, and Mr. Salzwedel owns the forty-acre tract on which the factory stands."
