COLBY, WIS. - Albert "Jim" Mercier, 70, of Colby, Wisconsin, died April 9, 2004, at his residence.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Visitation with family and friends will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford. A rosary service will be at 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Maurina Funeral Home, Abbotsford, with a parish rosary at 8 p.m.

Jim was born Oct. 25, 1933, in Gilman to Edward and Marian (Cox) Mercier. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1953-1957. He married Dolores Friedenfels on Jan. 24, 1959, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen. They moved to the town of Colby in 1966 and farmed there until retiring in 1998.

Jim is survived by his wife, Dolores, of Colby; his children, Elaine (Dan) Bruesewitz of Sheboygan, Richard (Holly) Mercier of DeForest, David (Dawn) Mercier of Colby, Al (Lora) Mercier of Marshfield, and Lisa Mercier of Belgium; 11 grandchildren; his sisters, Adeline Garton of Rockford, Ill., and Jean (Glenn) Gruber of Roseville, Minn.; and his brothers, Richard (Judy) Mercier of Ashland, Edwin Mercier of Cottage Grove, David Mercier of Houston, Texas, and Peter (Carol) Mercier of Colby.
