Rowe, Fern (Marriage - 4 June 1930)
Mr. Herbert Borde and Miss Fern Rowe were quietly married on Wednesday, June 4, at the home of the groom’s sister, Mrs. J. W. Buchler in Elgin, Ill., Rev. Rabe officiating. The groom is the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Borde of Pine Valley and grew to manhood at the farm home. After completing grade studies in school he took academic work for two years at Martin Lutheran College in New Ulm, Minn., and entered Neillsville high school graduating from the Commercial course in 1928. After graduating he took a course in a business college in Milwaukee and has since been at home on the farm. He is a young man of keen intelligence and good character.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Grace Rowe of this city. She graduated from Neillsville High School in 1929, also taking the Commercial course and since her graduation has been employed in the office of the Clark County Agency. She is a young lady of pleasant personality, competent and courteous in her work and has a host of friends among our young people.
For the present the young couple are continuing their usual work and have not yet definitely settled their plans for the future. Monday night they gave a reception to their relatives and friends at the home of the bride’s sister, Mrs. Leland Bandelow, which was greatly enjoyed by all in attendance.
