Luchterhand, Caroline (7 Jul 1845 - 12 May 1927)

Mrs. William Luchterhand, an old and respected resident of Loyal, Clark County, Wis., was called to her final resting place Thursday evening the 12th of May 1927. She was in good health up to a few days before her death.

Caroline Caron was born in Brandenburg, Germany July 7, 1845. She came to America and settle with her parents in Rubicon, Dodge Co.

In Aug. 1866 she was united in marriage to William Luchterhand. To this union eleven children were born, three preceding her in death.

In 1870 they moved to the Town of Loyal, one and one-half miles north of this village, and lived there until the year 1909, when they moved to this village where she resided until her death.

She leaves to mourn her loss her bereaved husband, five sons and three daughters, thirty-four grandchildren and twenty-seven great grandchildren.

The children surviving, namely are: Frank and Albert of Loyal, Julius of Unity; Edwin of Colby and Ernest who is in Canada; Mrs. Minnie McGee of Canada, Mrs. Fred Schalan of Vesper and Mrs. Walter Limp of Bloomer.

Funeral services were held from the Lutheran Church Sunday May 15th at 1:00 p.m. Interment took place in the old Lutheran Cemetery north of the village, Rev. Pohlman officiating.

The following grandchildren from away attended the funeral: Harold and Raymond Falk of Beaver Dam, Bernard Sufficoal of Emery, Willima Lewis and Lucille Sufficoal of Minneapolis.

The Tribune joins the many friends of the deceased in extending sympathy.
