Schwan, Henrietta (29 JUN 1851 - 7 Jan 1927)

Henrietta Schwan, nee Pobanz, was born in Pomerania, Germany, the 29th day of June 1851. She received the benefit of Holy Baptism in her infancy and the blessing of a thorough religious instruction prior to her confirmation. She knew many Bible verses and hymns by heart, most of which had been converted to memory while still a child.

Having came to this country in 1873, she entered the holy state of matrimony the following eyar with Ernest Schwan at Hartford, Wis.

In 1875 she followed her husband to Clark County, Wis. onto a farm near Loyal. They lived on that farm for 39 years, retiring in Loyal in 1914.

Here the husband died four years later. About four years ago the deceased, feeling the infirmities of old age increasing, left Loyal and Made her home with the children, Harry and Marie Voss.

That strength of her life was ebbing away swiftly, was evident for several months. She passed away last Friday, the 7th day of January 1927. She reached the age of 75 years and 6 months.

The names of her children left to mourn her departure are the following: Otto Schwan, Louie Schwan, Ella Grob, Martha Grob, Marie Voss and Esther Meyer. She also leaves fourteen grandchildren.
