Boone, Ethel F. (20 May 1900 - 2 May 1930)

Ethel F. Boone, daughter of Mrs. H. M. Loomis, died in Chicago May 2, after a serious operation. Pneumonia set in after the operation, causing death. She had been troubled with severe head aches since she was 11 years of age, and as they continued to grow worse it was decided that an operation was the only means of saving her life. The operation took place Friday and she died on Tuesday.

Ethel was born in Neillsville May 20, 1900, and was 29 years, 11 months and 12 days old at the time of her death. Her father, Richard Boone, died in a railroad accident about a month before she was employed in Chicago, making her home with her mother during the past five years. She was a young lady of finest type of character, unselfish and always looking after the comfort and pleasure of others. Her death is a crushing blow to her mother. She leaves also one sister, Mrs. Jessie Cavanaugh, two nieces, Jane and Alice, and an uncle, Harry B. Robbins of Denver, Colorado.

Funeral services were held in Chicago and the body brought to Neillsville for burial, Tuesday forenoon, brief services being held at the grave, Rev. G. W. Longenecker officiating.

Mr. Robbins arrived here from Denver Monday to be present at the burial. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Cavanaugh of Madison and M. A. Fleming and Ben Fleming of Amherst, were also in attendance.

It looks like a phrase or line of information is missing from the second paragraph. Her father died in a railroad accident about a month before she was born.

Her father's family name was spelled Boon.

Marsha,

This obituary is transcribed the way it appeared in the orginial copy. I don't have my copies anymore, so I am unable to check the second paragraph. The surname is spelled the way it was appeared in the newspaper. Crystal Wendt
