Pettit, Gertrude (8 May 1884 - 5 Dec 1929)

Mrs. Louis A. Pettit suddenly passed away at her home here (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) on Thursday, Dec. 5th, 1929.

Gertrude Putrow was born May 8, 1884, at Antigo, Wis., and with her parents moved to Rice Lake in 1892 where she attended St. Joseph's school and graduated from Rice Lake High School. She was married Aug. 18, 1909 to Louis A. Pettit. Five children blessed this union, Joseph, Anna (who died in infancy), Mary, Audrey and John, all now living at Thorp. She left two sisters, Stella Howard and Ethel Bare, and one brother, Earl Putrow, all of Milwaukee. Her father and mother preceded her in death. The family moved to Thorp in July 1928, where she leaves many mourning friends. The funeral took place Saturday in Rice Lake, from St. Joseph's Church, at 9:30 a.m., Rev. F. J. Pettit officiating, interment following in the parish cemetery.
