Carl E. "Toots" Kessler, 69, Neillsville, died Sunday, July 4, 2004, at the House of Dove, Marshfield. Following a 9:30 a.m. visitation,, funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 17,[? 7th]2004 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Neillsville. The Rev. Woodrow H. Pace will officiate. Music will be provided by Ronald Resong, organist and St. Mary’s Choir. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Carl Edward Kessler was born on Nov. 5, 1934, in Neillsville, to Carl B. and Clara A. [nee Wasserberger] Kessler. He arrended St. Mary’s Catholic School, Neillsville, and then farmed with his brother, Kenneth, in the town of Pine Valley. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. His interests included football and hunting.

Survivors include two brothers, Kenneth Kessler, Neillsville, and Louis [Shirley] Kessler, Neillsville; two sisters, Elaine [Jim] Haas, Barron, and Angeline [Forest] Larson, Neillsville; one sister-in-law, Margie Kessler, Neillsville; 15 nieces and nephews; and 22 great-nieces and great-nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Leo "Lefty" Kessler; and one sister, Mildred Schwellenbach.

Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, assisted the family with arrangements.
