Homer Edward Webster

Homer Edward Webster, 98, of Neillsville, passed away Saturday, Feb. 28, at Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville.

Homer was born Sept. 22, 1905 in Wausaukee to Charles A. and Cora (Strang) Webster. He received his high school diploma in 1924 and proceeded on to the Moody Bible Institute where he graduated in 1932. Homer moved to Neillsville in 1934 and later married Bethel Newell-Bradley on June 22, 1938. Homer was the pastor of the "Gospel Tabernacle", later named the Independent Bible Church from 1934 to 1947, then went on to serve in other capacities until helping found the Bible Baptist Church of Neillsville in 1970. He was also an electrician and repaired refrigerators. Homer worked in maintenance for Nelson Muffler for fifteen years from 1955 to 1970.

Homer is survived by his children, Yvonne (Donald) Yeager of Chippewa Falls, JoAnn (Jerry) Dorsey of Tacoma, Wash., Wayne of Searcy, Arkansas, David (Cindy) LaGrange, Ohio, Ronald (Polly) of Granton, and Dorothy (Malcolm) Johnson of Ostrander, Minn.; 28 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandhchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bethel in 1990; two grandchildren; brothers, Clarence and Merwin; sisters, Thelma, Isola, and Gretchen.

A memorial service will be held for Homer at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 6, at the Bible Baptist Church in Neillsville with the Reverend Mark Fugate officiating. Interment will be held at a later date.

The Cremation Society of Wisconsin assisted the family with arrangements.
