Flora, Myrtle (24 SEP 1883 - 17 Apr 1922)

The Eidsvold Community was stricken with deep grief when announcement was made of the death of Mrs. Joseph Flora in the hospital at Chippewa Falls. Mrs. Flora had been taken to the hospital about a month previous suffering with pneumonia, which developed into typhoid. She grew worse and an operation was performed Saturday which proved unavailing and she passed peacefully away Monday, April 17th, 1922 at 8:30 p.m.

Myrtle Hadley was born at Eidsvold Sept. 24, 1883, the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Hadley. She grew to womanhood there and was united in marriage to Joseph Flora in June 1900. Four children blessed this union, three of whom, Ruby, Lawrence and Louis died in infancy. She is survived by her husband, one daughter Opal, her father and mother, and one brother Earl.

Mrs. Flora was a member of the Women's Relief Corps of Thorp, Clark County, Wis., and was active in affairs of her community that make for the best in life. She was a faithful and loving wife, daughter and mother, and her early departure is most deeply felt.

Funeral services were held at the Eidsvold Presbyterian Church Thursday, April 20th, in charge of Rev. George E. Griffith, with music by Mrs. Toft and Evison and Mr. Harrington of Stanley, and the children of the Eidsvold School. Interment was made in the Stanley Cemetery. The remembrance and sympathy of many friends was manifested in the beautiful floral offerings.
