Norma Bravener

Norma J. Bravener, 77, Greenwood, died Wednesday, March 31, 2004, at her home.

Funeral services were held at 1 :30 p.m., Saturday, April 3, at Grace United Methodist Church, Greenwood. The Rev. Mary Anne Conklin officiated. Burial was in Greenwood City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dicky Bravener, Daniel Richard, Jason Bravener, Luke Bravener, Kevin Bravener, Mark Daniels, Larry Kaczrouske, Aaron Symicek, Rob Schooley, and Adam Hilgart.

Norma Jean Teter was born on Sept. 3, 1926, in Adrian, Mich., to Harry and Gladys (nee Bird) Teter. She was raised on a farm in Michigan until 1938, at which time the family moved to Waterloo, Iowa. She completed her education in Waterloo, graduating from high school in 1944. She married Adelbert W. Bravener on May 31, 1947, at the Little Brown Church in the Vale, Nashua, Iowa. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in 1997. They lived in Waterloo until 1950, when they moved to Loyal, and farmed until moving to Greenwood in 1957. They farmed in Greenwood until retiring in 1994. in addition to farming, she worked as a nurse's aide in Neillsville and did bookkeeping. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Greenwood American Legion AuXiliary. She had many interests, but especially loved her family and really enjoyed spending time with all of them and supporting her grandchildren's events. She was an avid sports fan and especially loved Packer football and Nascar racing. Her other interests included crafting, reading, collecting bells and state magnets, birds, nature, visiting with her neighbors and family get-togethers. She had a great sense of humor, a green thumb and was a very determined individual. She was loved very much and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her husband, Adelbert "Dell" Bravener, Greenwood; her children, Carol (Dan) Richard, Marshfield, Dick (Vicki) Bravener, Marshfield, Danny (Toni) Bravener, Greenwood, Ken (Karen) Bravener, Indian Trail, North Carolina, Barb (Rich) Kane, Platteville, and Arnie (Brenda) Bravener, Arpin; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Herschel (Colleen) Teter, Loyal, and Dale (Barbara) Teter, Granton; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and one sister, Marguerite Thomson.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, assisted the family with arrangements.
