Kannenberg, Pastor Bruce Charles (10 December 1940 – 14 April 2022)

Bruce C. Kannenberg, Sr., age 81, of Thorp, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield.

Bruce Charles Kannenberg was born on December 10, 1940, in St. Louis, MO, the son of Harry and Adele (Kamf) Kannenberg, where he was raised and received his education. After completing high school, Bruce attended Brooks Bible Institute of St. Louis, Baptist Bible College of Springfield, MO, and Faith Bible Baptist College and Seminary in Greely, CO, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology, a Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate in Religious Education, and also received an Honorary Doctorate in Laws/Letters (Theology).

He was united in marriage to Brenda K. Jones on March 25, 1992, in Las Vegas, NV. Over the years Dr. Kannenberg pastored in Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Missouri and was currently the Senior Pastor of Victory Baptist Church and Schools in Thorp. Our Lord has used him to found 10 mission churches. He has served his home church as Associate Pastor, ministering to a 1,000 folks, plus being responsible for 48 teachers, 12 superintendents, and 23 buses, including the visitation program. He has authored countless Sunday programs and lessons, taught in the Baptist Bible College in Denver, CO, as well as in several high school subjects, such as: History, Baptist and Church, Personal Evangelism, Life of Christ, and Teaching Techniques. Dr. Kannenberg has authored 163+ Sunday School lesson booklets, 27+ outline studies on the books of the Bible, and 12 books on related topics. His final calling as pastor was to Victory Baptist Church from 1994 to 2016 in Thorp.

Bruce had many interests, but especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda, of Thorp; his children: Cynthia Hawkins of Fredericktown, MO, Bryan (Sheila) Kannenberg of Fredericktown, MO, Bruce C. Kannenberg, Jr. of Perryville, MO, Timothy Kannenberg of Perryville, MO, Brett Kannenberg of Marquand, MO, Andrew (Andrea) Kannenberg of Bluff City, KS, Leslie (Randy) Bennett of Stanley, Kristopher Jones of Owatonna, MN, Christopher Belt of Phoenix, AZ, and Jenna Belt of Scottsdale, AZ; 24 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 22, 2022, at Thorp Funeral Home, with John Nowobielski officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, from 10 a.m. until time of service.
