News: Neillsville, Wis. Storm
Transcriber: Laurel Bragstad Schaub>

Neillsville had a storm sweet over it Sunday that gave it a pretty bad scare. The big smokestack and sawdust pipe at the furniture factory blew down, trees were stripped of branches and many blown over in various parts of the city, and many roofs stripped of enough shingles to let in some water. Cellars flooded, especially those between Fourth and Fifth Streets, on Hewett, from the faulty sewer, which backed a black and pollution laden flood into them all. Considerable damage was done in the country to grain and strawstacks, as it is now the thrashing season and much grain. Gleaner 9-14-1900
