Krause, Hulda (14 June 1883 - 19 May 1926)

Mrs. John Krause died suddenly in the early hours of Wednesday morning, May 19, at her home in the town of Grant. While her health had not been very good for some time previous, yet she had been able to about at all times, and on Tuesday had gone with her husband to visit a married daughter, Mrs. Clark in the town of Washburn. On the way home she leaned over against her husband and he supposed she was tired or sleepy but on reaching the house, he discovered that she was unconscious. She lived only a short time after she was brought into the house.

Mrs. Krause’s maiden name was Hulda Krause; she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August C. Krause to the town of Grant. She was born in that town June 14, 1883, and grew to womanhood there. On Dec. 19,1901 she was married to John Krause, and for 4 years they lived at the home of Mr. Krause’s mother, later at her father’s home and for ten years in the town of Sherwood. They moved to their own place in the town of Grant, and have lived there since except for a time when their house burned, they moved into a house across the line in Pine Valley.

Mrs. Krause was a woman who was much respected by all who knew her, a good wife and mother and a kind neighbor; she will be greatly missed in the home and community.

She leaves beside her husband, five children: Zelma, Mrs. Martin Clark of Washburn; Felix at home; Arnold in South Dakota; Angeline, Mrs. Otto Gorzelitz of the town of Grant; Olga, Mrs. Harry De Gross of the town of Grant. The oldest child, Theodore, died when six years old. She leaves also her mother and one brother Herman Krause.

The funeral was held Saturday at the home, burial taking place in Windfall Cemetery near Granton, Rev. Theo. Martens officiating.

All the children were present at the funeral.
