Sharon Kay Treutel

Sharon Kay Treutel, 58, Colby, Wisconsin, died Saturday, June 5, 2004, in Saint Joseph's Hospital Palliative Care Unit. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colby. The Rev. John Malik will officiate. Inurnment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services on Thursday at the church. Community Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Sharon was born October 31, 1945, in Marshfield to Elroy and Anna (Engel) Gutenberger. She graduated from Colby High School and from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a bachelor's degree in education. Sharon and David Treutel were married August 3, 1968. She was a high school business teacher, worked at Colby Clinic and was most recently employed at Northwest Trucks in Colby.

Sharon is survived by her husband, David of Colby; her children, Julie (Peter) Magger of Appleton and Jason (Alexis Ernst-Treutel) Treutel of Madison; one grandson, Aiden Magger; her sisters and brothers, Rita (Armin "Butch") Walsh of Marshfield, Roy (Ann) Gutenberger of Merrill, Eileen (Melvin) Bender of Mosinee, Jim (Grace) Gutenberger of Colby, and Eldora (Gordie) Schuster of Marshfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son, Kevin.
