Bartlett, Daisy Pearl (22 Aug. 1874 - 20 Feb. 1926)

Mrs. C. E. Bartlett passed away Saturday morning, February 20, at the Marshfield hospital where she had been taken a short time previously. She had not been in good health for a year or more past, but within the past few weeks heart trouble of a serious nature developed, and this was the immediate cause of her death which came suddenly at the last.

Mrs. Bartlett, whose maiden name was Daisy Pearl Allen, was born at Hannibal, Missouri, August 22, 1874.

She came to Mosinee, Wisconsin with her parents in 1877, and there spent her girlhood years. On March 26, 1898 she was married to Cyril E. Bartlett at Antigo. For a time they lived at Mattoon, Wis., where Mr. Bartlett was associated with his parents in operating a hotel. In the spring of 1899 they moved to Merrillan, Mr. Bartlett’s old home, and lived there until January 1903, when they moved to Neillsville where they have lived ever since.

Mrs. Bartlett was a woman of remarkably fine personality, and had the friendship and esteem of all who came in contact with her. Her home life was ideal; she was a kind and loving wife and mother and a helpful thoughtful neighbor. Her death has left a sad vacancy, not alone in the home, but also in the community.

She was a member of the Episcopalian church and the St. Cecila’s Guild also the Order of the Eastern Star in all of which her presence and help will be greatly missed.

She leaves to mourn her death her husband, one daughter, Mrs. A. W. Kearney of Merrillan, and an aged mother, Mrs. Allen who has long made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Bartlett. She leaves also one grandchild.

The funeral was held at the home Tuesday forenoon, Rev. Wilkins, of St. Albans church of Marshfield, officiating. The Eastern Star ritual ceremony also being used. Burial took place in the family lot at Merrillan.

Those from away who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Darling and son Osmond of Eau Claire, and Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Kearney of Merrillan, Mrs. Tank of Marathon City, Mrs. Mary Bartlett of Eau Claire, Mrs. Madeline Helbling of Merrillan, Mrs. Ed. La Due of Mosinee and Mrs. James Morrisey of Oconto Falls.
