LEWIS AYERS

Lewis Ayers, 77, who lived in Eagle River for 54 years, died Sunday, June 29, at his home in Eagle River.

He was born in Granton on Nov. 18, 1909. For 25 years he owned and operated Lincoln Block Works.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Elsie, and his brother, Ernest.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; two daughters, Shirley Bast of Sheboygan and Barbara Hafer of Eagle River; Three sons, Forrest, Gerald and James, all of Eagle River; one brother, Howard of Patzou; one sister, Marian Olson of Holyoke, Minn., Three great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services took place Tuesday, July 1, at 7 p.m. at the Gaffney Funeral Home. the Rev. Len Johnson officiated. Final disposition was by cremation. Visitation took place Tuesday, prior to the service.
