Yankee, Katherine (13 Feb 1862 - 24 May 1924)

Mrs. Wm. Yankee died here (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) at her home May 24, 1924, after a long illness caused from heart trouble, being confined to her bed six weeks.

Mrs. Yankee was born Katherine Lezotte at Detroit, Mich., Feb. 13, 1862, and when very young came with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mathias Lezotte, to Neillsville, where she lived for many years. She was married here on Jan. 12, 1892 to Wm. Yankee and went to Hein, where they resided four years, then going to Tony, Wis. 26 years ago and lived there until her death.

Funeral services took place at St. Anthony's Catholic Church Wednesday May 28th at 11:30 a.m. and interment took place in the Tony Cemetery. Rev. Father H. Briski, O. S. M., officiating. She is survived by her husband and three children, Arch of Flint, Mich.; Mrs. Leo Velten and Hugh of Tony. Out of town relatives who attended the funeral services Joe Lezotte, Otto Hantek and sons, Reuben and Anthony, Herman Yankee and son Arnold, all of Neillsville; Miss Anna Knorr of Appleton, Mrs. J. Velten and daughters, Mrs. Ralph Bartlett and Katherine of Rice Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Effner Nelson of Ladysmith.
