Taylor, Nellie (29 Dec. 1843 - 24 June 1923)

Mrs. Nellie Taylor died at a sanitarium in Madison Sunday, June 24, 1923. Mrs. Taylor, whose maiden name was Nellie Chase, was born in Fletcher, Vermont, Dec. 29, 1843. As a young lady, about 25 years of age, she came to Wisconsin, and in 1872 was united in marriage to H. E. Taylor of Neillsville, and made their home here for many years. Some time after Mr. Taylor’s death she went to Madison and made her home at the sanitarium in which she had a financial interest. She has lived there constantly for the past ten years. She leaves no children; one son Elmer was drowned in Black River when a small boy. Mrs. Taylor was a bright, intelligent woman, very conscientious and deeply religious. She is most kindly remembered by her old friends here, who deeply regret her death. She leaves one sister, Mrs. John Barnes of Hixton, who with her husband and other members of her family came here to attend burial services Thursday. Funeral services were held at the Sanitarium and brief services at the Neillsville cemetery, Rev. W.T. Scott of Neillsville and Rev. W. H. Sherrig of Fond du Lac officiating.
