Larry L. Schultz (1951 - 2003)

Larry Schultz, age 52, of Granton, died Tuesday, Oct. 7 at the Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville.

Larry Lee Schultz was born on April 13, 1951 in Neillsville, the son of Grace Elizabeth (Christensen) Schultz and Elmer Edward Schultz. He attended school in Granton. He worked for Kuehn's Service Station, built homes for Stillman Lumber Co. and also worked at the Weinbrenner Shoe Factory. Larry was united in marriage to Rita Zelenyj on May 19, 1975 in Winona, Minn.

He enjoyed fishing, riding horses, gun smithing, and he enjoyed nature. He also liked to spend time watching western movies, sci-fi movies like Star Trek, playing cards and chess and playing Battle Tank on Nintendo. Larry was a member of the NRA.

Larry is survived by his wife Rita, of Black River Palls; his daughter, Theresa (Lester Jr.) Kuehn of Granton; three grandchildren, Jacob and Jamie Kuehn and Kyia Hernandez.

He is also survived by two brothers, Eugene (Paulette) Schultz of Chippewa Falls, and Dale (Jeanette) Schultz of Spencer; five sister-in-laws, Olga (Paul) Kurylak of Chicago, Ill.; Mary (Orlando) Roman of Granton, Zona (Brad) Roberts of Neillsville; Anna Zelenyj (Jay Meddaugh) of Granton; and Stefka (Todd) Meddaugh, also of Granton.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Services for Larry were on Friday, Oct. 10, at the Zion American Lutheran Church in Granton. Pastor David Johnson officiated. Interment was held in the Zion American Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Gesche Funeral Home assisted Larry's family with arrangements.
