Southard, Warren A. (5 May 1847 - 27 March 1923)

Funeral services fro the late Warren A. Southard were held Thursday, March 29, 1923, from the Orting Home, with the chaplain of the home officiating. Interment was made in the Orting cemetery.

Mr. Southard, a Civil War Veteran, was given full military burial, with taps, firing squad and life and drum corps. Death followed a decline in health, which covered a period of nine years, the last three weeks of which he was confined to his bed.

He is survived by his wife and three children, Frank Southard of Seattle; Charles Southard of Raymond, and Mrs. Wm. Brundage of this city. Two other children, Myra and Hattie, having died in childhood; five grandchildren, Wallace Brundage, deceased, Mrs. Grace Brundage Potter, Miss Velma Brundage, Eldores Southard and Frank Southard, and one great-grandchild, Norma Elsie Potter.

Warren A. Southard, was born in Portland, Maine, May 5, 1847, and died March 27, 1923. He served one year in Civil War, enlisting in June, 1864, with Co. K, 9th Maine Volunteers, and was mustered out in September, 1865. Centralia, Wash., Tribune.
