RACINE - Arnold H. Thieme, 80, passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 30, 2003. He was born in Curtiss on May 12, 1923, to Fred and Bertha (nee: Koehler) Thieme and moved to the Racine area 55 years ago. Arnold was united in marriage to Dolores "Dolly" Swoboda on October 6, 1951. He retired from Racine Hydraulics (Dana Corporation) on June 1, 1985, after 40 years of service.

Surviving are three sons, Dennis (Debbie) Thieme, Scott Thieme, and Brian Thierne; one daughter, Barbara (Bill) Smith; eight grandchildren, Krista Ramsey, Robert Thieme, Jenny Thieme, Chad Thieme, Angie Thieme, Nicole Thieme, Lauren Smith, and Mathew Smith; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Rudy Thieme. Further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolly on March 25, 1989; a son and daughter- in-law, Bruce and Lynn Thieme; granddaughter, Stephanie Thieme; three brothers, Alvin, Harry, and Franklin; and four sisters, Esther, Rose, Helen, and Lorraine.

Funeral services will be held at the Hanson Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 6, 2004, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Jim Niederloh officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Monday evening from 4 until 7 p.m. and at the funeral home on Tuesday morning before services from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
