Holcomb, Joseph Milton ( 1900 - 20 July 1922)

Joseph Milton Holcomb died July 10, 1922, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Portland, Oregon. His death resulted from a fractured skull being hit by a falling snag while fighting forest fires in the coast range of mountains in Oregon. Mr. Holcomb was 22 years of age. He was born in New Lexington, Perryton Co., Ohio, and came to Oregon when four years of age. He was married at Vancouver, Washington, on July 19, 1919, to Miss Coralie Wedding of Neillsville, Wisconsin. To them one child was born, Donald Eugene, age 2 years, who with his mother, survive the deceased. Beside his wife and son, he leaves to mourn his death his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. E.. B. Holcomb of Portland, Oregon, eight brothers and three sisters. Mr. Holcomb was a member of the University Park Methodist Church of Portland and the funeral was held on Monday, July 24, 1922, at 2 o’clock p.m. Interment was made in the Mount Scott Park cemetery. Funeral arrangements were in charge of Chamber & Co. Morticans.
