Pratt, Polly (9 OCT 1915 - 5 Sep 1922)

The news of little Polly Pratt's death cast a shadow over the community when it was learned on last Tuesday, Sept. 5th, 1922, that she was gone. Everything that medical skill and loving care was done for her that could be done, but to no avail and she was called to the Heavenly home.

She was the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Pratt and was born in Loyal, Clark County, Wis., Oct. 9th, 1915. For nearly seven years she not only has been a joy and comfort of the home, but her sweet, childish presence brought a wealth of sunshine and happiness into the lives of those she was associated with. During her brief school days she won the hearts of both teacher and pupils.

This beautiful baby life was so precious, so fraught with blessing to her parents that she seemed like a flower of paradise, permitted to bloom for a brief season by their side, and then recalled. All of her short but happy life was spent among us and the writer with others will cherish her memory.

The funeral services for little Polly were beautiful and impressive and were held at the Methodist Church Thursday afternoon at two o'clock, the male quartet furnishing the music and the pastor Rev. J. H. Chatterson officiating. The flowers were many and beautiful.

She was laid to rest in the Loyal Cemetery.
