Huyck, Aaron S. (20 Feb 1869 - 10 Mar 1939)

Aaron S. Huyck

Aaron S. Huyck, whose death occurred at his home in Duluth, Minn., March 10th, after an illness dating back for some time, was a son of Robert and Sarah Huyck. He was born at Sheboygan Falls, Wis., Feb. 20, 1869, and came with his parents to Humbird when a young man, they settling on a farm near the village.

On Sept. 15, 1891, he was united in marriage with Miss Alice Stallard, and a few years later they moved to Fairchild, where Mr. Huyck was employed by the N. C. Foster Lumber Co. in their store. About 1908 the family moved to Duluth, where he was in the employ of the Omaha Ry. Co. until his retirement in 1937.

Mr. Huyck attained the age of 70 years and 18 days. He leaves his wife, one son, Forrest C., of Duluth, and one grandson. A daughter, Mildred, passed away in 1921. Burial was in a Duluth cemetery.

The deceased had a large number of friends in railroad circles, and also here and at Fairchild, who sincerely mourn his death. Ill health prevented visits to his old home in later years, but previous to that he enjoyed greeting the old friends. He was a brother-in-law of Henry W. and Burton Stallard of this village.
