Kennedy, Gertrude (Marriage - 1 Sep 1913)

The home of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Kennedy was the scene of a quiet wedding Monday forenoon, Sept. 1, 1913, when their daughter Miss Gertrude Kennedy was united in marriage with Mr. La Vern E. McIntire of Milwaukee, Rev. W.T. Hendren of Greenwood, who performed a like service for the bride’s parents, officiated.

The bride was born and brought up here (Neillsville, Clark County), graduated from our high school and Oshkosh Normal. She taught very successfully in our home schools, and later taught in Utah, returning to take a position in the Milwaukee schools. She was not only an excellent teacher, but is a young lady of original and varied talent, though quiet and unobtrusive in manner.

The groom is Assistant City Attorney of Milwaukee, a position of great responsibility, and one which those who know him best state that he is well qualified to fill. He has made a good impression on the people here who have met him, as a man of high character and ability.

After the ceremony a wedding breakfast was served at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A.B. Marsh under the direction of Mrs. J.F. Schuster and Mrs. A.B. Marsh, close friends of the bride and her people.

The bride and groom will remain at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kennedy for a few weeks before returning to Milwaukee where they will reside.

We join with many of Neillsville and vicinity in offering best wishes.
