Fischer, Michael (24 Jan 1845 - 18 Jan 1912)

Michael Fischer died at his home in this city (Neillsville, Clark Co.) Jan. 18, 1912, from apoplexy, with which he was stricken a few days before. He was born at Jefferson, Wis. Jan. 24, 1845, and grew to manhood there. He was married there Sept. 26, 1869, to Miss Malinda Shoop, who survives him. To them were born nine children, eight of who are now living: Mrs. Maggie Bishop, Mrs. Mattie Clinton, and Joseph of Centralia, Wash., Spencer of Great Falls, Mont., Mrs. Aggie Rodman, John, George and Harvey of Neillsville. He leaves also to mourn his death, four brothers, two sisters, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Fischer lived in Jefferson Co. after their marriage until June 1872, when they moved to this county and resided on their farm in the town of Grant until Jun 15, 1905, when they moved to Neillsville, where they have since resided. Mr. Fischer was a very honest and industrious man, even after he moved to the city, he was always willing to do any kind of honest work he found to do, and had the good will and respect of all who knew him. The funeral was held Monday at the M.E. Church, Rev. Prucia officiating.
