Dietrich, Julia A. (26 Jul 1827 - 6 Oct 1910)

Mrs. Christian Dietrich, one of the oldest residents of this county, died Oct. 6, 1910, at the home of her son, John Dietrich, in the town of Grant, Clark County. She was born at Byren, Germany, Jul 26, 1827, her maiden name being Julia Anna Rausch. She came to America with her father, brothers, and sisters, who first settled in Pennsylvania. Later they moved to Wisconsin, settling at Nasonville. April 3, 1859, she was married to Christian Dietrich and they came to the town of Grant, where they lived until her death. Besides her aged husband and five sons, John, Henry, Ernest, Charlie and Fred, also nine grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Ernest Sternitzky of Lynn.

Mrs. Dietrich was one of those noble women whose industry and faithfulness to home and family is shown in the lives of her children and grandchildren, and whose influence will be felt in generations of the future. It is fortunate indeed for a community in its early days to have mothers like her.

The funeral was held at the home Sunday afternoon.
