Fulwiler, Israel (25 Augl 1838 - 4 Jun 1910)

Israel Fulwiler died at his home in the town of York, Clark County last Saturday afternoon, Jun 4, at four o’clock, at the age of 71 years, 9 months and 9 days. His death was caused indirectly from Bright’s Disease, from which he suffered immensely at different intervals for several years. Death finally relived him from three weeks of intense suffering. Dr. Ross of Granton, the attending physician, did all within his power to relive him of his suffering, but it was of no avail.

Mr. Fulwiler was born near Youngstown, Ohio, Aug. 25, 1838. At the age of nine years he came with his parents to Wisconsin, settling on a farm in the town of Jackson, Washington Co., when that county was a vast wilderness. On Jan. 16, 1862, he was married to Miss Mary Lauerman. He continued farming and for several years conducted a general country store in connection. On Jan. 9, 1884, he moved to Clark County, onto a farm in the town of York, and followed this occupation until three years ago when ill health and a general decline made it necessary for him to turn the reins into younger hands. Besides his wife he leaves to survive him, five sons: George W. of Marshfield, Amos P. of York, William C. of Loyal, Adolph E. of Milwaukee, and one daughter, Mrs. George Rowe of Marshfield. One brother of Stratford, and three sisters residing in Hortonville, Manitowoc and Fairmont, Minn. The funeral took place last Tuesday from the M.E. Church, Rev. Kildow of Loyal officiating. Interment was made at York Center Cemetery.
