Haase, Joseph J. (19 Augl 1915 - 9 Augl 2002)

Joseph J. Haase, 86, Loyal, died on Friday, Aug. 9, 2002, at the Clark County Health Care Center, Owen. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal. The Rev. Roman Kaiser officiated. Burial was in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Greenwood. Pallbearers were grandsons, Robert Molloy, Patrick Molloy, Richard A. Haase, Gary Rueth, Randy Rueth and Michael Lehman.

Joseph John Haase was born on Aug. 19, 1915, in the town of Worden, to Paul and Elizabeth (nee Peetz) Haase. He attended school in the Stanley area. He married Loretta Elizabeth Gerrits on Nov. 26, 1936, in Boyd. He worked as an inseminator and auctioneer and the couple farmed northwest of Loyal for many years until retiring in 1980. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal. His interests included traveling with his wife, fishing, hunting and playing sheephead.

Survivors include his wife, Loretta Haase, Loyal; five children, Allen Haase, Stanley, David (Eleanor) Haase, Stratford, Ruth (Bob) Molloy, Belvidere, Ill., Richard J. (Jeri) Haase, Greenwood, and Debbie (Terry) Rueth, Loyal; 11 grandchildren, Robert (Angie) Molloy, Patrick (Aami) Molloy, Christine (Michael) Molloy-Lehman, Richard A. (Annette) Haase, Gary (Shelby) Rueth, Julie, Randy, Kellie and Chelsey Rueth, and Courtney and Christin Haase; three great-grandchildren, Matthew and Michael Molloy and Drew Lehman; one sister, Millie VanDenHeuvel, Stanley; and two brothers, Paul Haase, Stanley, and Bernard Haase, Stanley.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one son, Dennis Haase, in 1976.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, assisted the family with arrangements.
