Anderson, Oline (7 Jun 1853 - 10 Jul 1937)

Mrs. Morris Anderson passed away at her home in this city (Greenwood, Clark County), Saturday, Jul 10, 1937, following an illness of short duration.

Mrs. Oline Anderson was born Jun 7, 1853, at Oslo, Norway. She was united in marriage to Morris Anderson, Aug. 22, 1875. Five children were born to this union, two dying in infancy.

Mr. and Mrs. Anderson came to America in Jun 1884, locating at Withee, Clark County, Wis., later moving to a farm near Greenwood, where they remained until 1914, when they bought their present home in this city. Her husband preceded her in death Aug. 21, 1932.

Mrs. Anderson is survived by three sons, Otto A. of Stevens Point, Albert of Fond du Lac and Morris of Stevens Point. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one niece, Mrs. Alice Frautschi of Chicago, and a host of friends.

Mrs. Anderson was a familiar figure in Greenwood for many years. She appreciated friendship, and those who got close to her she held in high esteem. She was a member of the United Lutheran Church and Good Hope Society.

A short funeral service with prayer and son was held at the home at 1:30 and at the United Lutheran Church at 2:00 Monday afternoon. Anton Long of Stanley sang two solos and Miss Rosemarie Durig played a harp solo, "Nearer My God to Thee", a special favorite of Grandma Anderson’s. Rev. A.E. Norson officiated. The body was laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Persike of Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond folk of Birnamwood; Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. O.A. Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Anderson and family, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Meek and Mr. and Mrs. F.E. Shanks of Stevens Point; J.H. Fradette, Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Anderson, Fond du Lac; Miss Jane Anderson, La Crosse; Mr. Ralph Anderson, Rochester, Minn.
