Lippert, Alvena (25 Nov 1880 - 5 Oct 1908)

On Monday afternoon Oct. 5, 1908, Alvena Lippert’s life went out after long years of invalidism, during some of which time she suffered greatly. She was born in Madison Nov. 25, 1880, where her father Geo. Lippert then resided. When she was five years old her mother died. About nineteen years ago the family moved to Neillsville. When Alvena was twelve years old she was injured by a fall, which developed into hip joint disease and made her a cripple for life. Later it developed into a very serious and painful condition, probably due to tuberculosis. All that medical science could do was done for her, but with little avail. During all the years of her illness she bore her burden uncomplainingly and cheerfully, doing everything that her hands could do for the help and comfort of those around her. In many ways her life has been a lesson to those who with full health and strength have seen what she could do when practically an invalid.

She leaves to mourn her death her father and step-mother, one brother and two sisters, and four half-brothers and four half-sisters, all of who had the deepest affection for her. Besides these, far and near are many friends who knew and loved her.

The funeral will be held Friday at the Lutheran Church at 9:30 in the forenoon. The remains will be taken to Madison for burial in the family lot.
