Frantz, Bessie (Marriage - 22 Sep 1906)

Saturday evening Sept. 22, 1906, Mr. Edward Roethe and Miss Bessie Frantz were untied in marriage at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.G. Frantz, in Pine Valley, Clark County. The ceremony was witnessed by about a hundred friends and relatives of the couple. The groom was attended by his brother Prof. E.L. Roethe, principal of Edgerton High School and Dr. M. Bailey of Fennimore.

Miss Maud Ruddock and Miss Clara Wiesner were the bridesmaids.

Besides these mentioned there were present from a distance, Mrs. Katharine Roethe of Fennimore, the groom's mother, and his brother, A.G. Roethe and wife, of Highland, Wis.

The rooms of the beautiful home were decorated with carnations.

The young couple was the recipients of a large number of costly and beautiful presents.

After the wedding ceremony the guests assembled at the tables where a most bountiful supper was served.

The newly united couple departed on the midnight train for Milwaukee, where they will remain a few days and then continue their visit on to Buffalo, N.Y. and places of interest in the east. They will make their home in Fennimore, where the groom is located, being junior editor of the Fennimore Times, one of the most prosperous and influential papers in Wis. He is a young man of fine appearance and reputation and come from one of the most prominent families of the state. The bride was born and reared in Pine Valley, attended and graduated from the Neillsville schools and has since taught with success in the schools of this county. She is a young lady of whom the whole community is proud and with her and her husband go the good wishes of a large circle of relatives, neighbors and friends.
