Nelson, Ed. Jr. (29 Mar 1939 - 25 JUN 2002)

Ed "Pete" Nelson Jr., 63, Spencer, died on Tuesday, June 25, 2002, at his home after a long battle with lung disease. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 28, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer. The Rev. Karl Rose officiated. Burial was in West Spencer Cemetery. Pallbearers were Richard Sternweis, Gerald Kampin, Norman Vanderhoof, Donald Dommer, Thomas Harriman and Larry Hamus.

Ed Nelson was born on March 29, 1939, in Chili, to Ed and Viola (nee Bodendorfer) Nelson. He attended Veefkind School. He married Marion L. Dommer on June 20, 1959, in Chili. He farmed with his parents until his marriage. After his marriage, the couple farmed in Union Grove and Spencer. He was employed with Weyerhaeuser until he became disabled in 1985. He assisted the Marshfield News Herald and the Buyer's Guide with deliveries for several years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Marion, Spencer four children, Char (Greg) Frane, Spencer, Sandy (David) Freeman, Marshfield, Bonnie (Tim) Mallmann, Chilton, and Debra (Curtis) Johansson, Chili 10 grandchildren, Cory and Lisa Frane, Spencer, Bobbi, Justin, Eric, and Matthew Freeman, Marshfield, Martha and Danny Mallmann, Chilton, and Linnea and Michael Johansson, Chili one brother, Gerald (Lila) Nelson, Spencer and three sisters, Ruby (Alvin) Heckel, Marshfield, Nila (Archie) Vanderhoof, Arpin, and Carol "Fuzzy" Harriman, Marshfield.

Preceding him in death were his parents one grandson, Richard Edward Mallmann one sister, Audry Kampin and one brother-in-law, Earl "Nobby" Kampin.

Community Funeral Home, Spencer, assisted the family with arrangements.
