Stevens, Verna B. (Marriage - 9 NOV 1904)
Mr. Walter J. Gourlie and Miss Verna Belle Stevens, both of the town of Sherman, Clark County, were married Nov. 9, 1904, Judge James O?Neill officiating. They went to Judge O?Neill to secure a dispensation, to be used in lieu of a license, and after vainly trying to find a clergyman to tie the knot for them, the Judge consented to officiate himself.
The groom is a prosperous young farmer residing near Veefkind on the old W.B. McPherson farm. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. Stevens, highly respected residents of their locality.
