Claridge, Laura H. (Marriage - 29 JUN 1898)

On Wednesday, June 29th, 1898, occurred the marriage of Mr. Richard Townsend of this city (Neillsville, Clark County) and Miss Laura H. Claridge of Reedsburg, at the home of the bride's brother in Chicago, the Rev. S.C. Edsell of the Episcopal Church performing the ceremony in the presence of immediate relatives.

The bride is one of Reedsburg's popular young ladies and has for some time past been bookkeeper and stenographer for Webb Schwekes, who conduct a large department store in Reedsburg. The groom has been in the barber business in this city the past five years and is one of the firm of Townsend Farber, who conduct a shop in the O'Neill House, and is a young man well thought of by our people.

The happy couple arrived here Saturday morning, and is at present boarding at the O'Neill House, preparatory to their going to housekeeping in the near future.

The Republican and Press, together with their host of friends wish them happiness unalloyed in this new step taken by them, and trust that the pathway in wedded life May be full of pleasure and happiness.
